Grilling out in the backyard on a hot summer day sweating with family and friends surrounding you is what a Southern Summer is all about. If you think of the Fourth of July, Memorial Day, or Labor Day in the heart of the South, you can feel the sun on your face and taste the food just thinking about it.
Hot dogs, pototo salad, slaw, and the Southern staple, baked beans, are a favorite flavor combination of summer.
When you eat differently than your extended family, things don’t have to be awkward. Eating plant-based is not your religion-I hope. You go to a cookout to be with the people you love–it’s not just about the food. If you’re scrambling for a meal idea to take to that summer cookout, relax and let Shane at Shane and Simple, help you out so…
1. You don’t have to miss out on that summer cookout.
AND
2. You can have the same summer flavor as your family, but without all the cholesterol, nitrates, and non-food chemical substances that load up your arteries and cells with unnecessary gunk.
Try Shane’s Carrot Dogs, Vegetarian Baked Beans, (Yes, they really are good and our non-vegan friends enjoy them too!), Potato Salad, and Best Vinegar Coleslaw.
Make extra, because your friends and family will want to try your “weird” food and they’ll be surprised. You’re likely to catch them going back for seconds!
